Originating in the late 19th century, as the trade union and labor movements gained momentum, trade unionists advocated for a dedicated day to honor labor. “Labor Day” was championed by the Central Labor Union and the Knights of Labor, who organized the first parade in New York City. Today, we continue to recognize this important celebration in our own ways. Orkal Aerospace, a Marmon | Berkshire Hathaway company, will close its U.S. offices on Monday, September 2, and reopen on Tuesday, September 3.
